Conio, Pigna and Badalucco beans
Beans were imported in the 17th century, and have found their ideal habitat in Liguria, especially near the towns of Conio, Pigna and Badalucco, from which the names of the varieties derive.
These beans are protected by Slow Food and are only produced in limited quantities. Selected and appreciated, they have a delicate, soft, creamy taste that can be immediately recognized. They have become a must in ligurian cuisine tradition.
